November 2005
Dear Friends,
I’m sure you are all feeling the same as we are…….enough with the rain! And what was that snow that we had over the weekend? Hopefully there are some crisp, sunny days in our future. I know that we generally consider Fall to be one of the loveliest times of the year, but we’re having some trouble seeing the beauty as we don our rain boots and slickers, again. It must be there somewhere…….
Catering
No matter what the weather, Fall is a wonderful time to entertain! There’s nothing quite like a home filled with friends and family, the fire burning and glasses clinking. If you love to entertain, but don’t love the work involved in pulling it all together, we can help you! We offer both full-service and demi-service catering. Nothing could be easier! We have standard menus, as well as a special menu for your Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts. Visit our website at www.bluebasil.com to see our menus, and for more information.
The Restaurant
In order to concentrate on our busy catering schedule, the restaurant will be CLOSED DURING THE MONTH OF DECEMBER FOR NIGHTLY DINING. We will be booking private events only during this time. The space can accommodate up to 40 people, with a 15 person minimum. Please consider Blue Basil for any of your upcoming holiday plans, whether they be company parties, or simply a group of friends getting together for an evening out! We don’t just serve dinner! Consider also a cocktail party, a private wine tasting, or a brewer’s evening. With a minimum of just 15 people, the possibilities are endless! Please contact us for further information.
November & December Hours
During November we will be open for dinner Fridays and Saturdays starting at 6pm. As usual, we are closed the rest of the week. We will be closed the weekend following Thanksgiving so we can visit relatives in Virginia. As you think ahead to your holiday dining plans, please keep in mind that we will be open for private events only during the month of December. We look forward to seeing you!
Moving On
After much thought and soul searching we have decided to sell Blue Basil. This is not a decision that was made hastily – there are many factors involved and it just turns out to be the best move for our family at this time. We have sold the restaurant to someone who will be re-opening as a Thai restaurant sometime in the new year. We have not sold them our name, or the names of our clients and customers. Please rest assured that we would never give out the personal information that you have entrusted us with. Blue Basil will continue to operate as noted above in our “November & December Hours” through the end of December.
It is with mixed emotions that we are making this move, but in the end it is a happy thing. We cannot express our appreciation to everyone for your support and enthusiasm over the years. We have enjoyed sharing this bit of our lives with each of you, and will miss the laughter and warmth that you brought to us each time the doors of Blue Basil opened and the chairs filled up. Every night was an adventure, and we are grateful to have had this opportunity. We are not quite sure what will come next for Blue Basil, but we will keep you posted! In the meantime, we are perched at the edge of the busiest time of year, ready to dive into the madness of it all. We hope you’ll join us!
